About Laury Smith
Laury Smith married her best friend over 33 years ago and together they have learned some of life’s most beautiful lessons. She is the proud mother of 7 amazing kids (now adults) that she says is each so unique but so wonderfully connected. She is an artist, photographer, graphic designer, and avid gardener. In 2013 she suffered from bilateral separation of her retinas and required 9 procedures to restore her vision. That challenge was a huge catalyst in her becoming the skilled photographer that she is today. She now specializes in wildlife photography and loves more than anything to teach others how to capture and appreciate the beauty that surrounds them. She commuted for 2 years to California; volunteering monthly for the Marine Mammal Center as an educational docent and for Marine Life Studies as a photographer and research assistant. Marine life is a real passion, but she was looking for something that spoke to a deeper yearning of purpose. She is thrilled to now be working with Real Imprints as a Graphic Designer and photographer.
