We’ve found shopping for carpet without children is a lot more effective than with, so since we were in that painful process of choosing a carpet for our new home, I was rushing to run one last errand before I picked up my kindergartener. I wasn’t sure I could squeeze it in, but I did and I’m glad I did! As I was racing down one of the main streets so I could make it back in time, I saw a little old white haired lady, sitting in a lawn chair, bundled up and enduring the wind well as she sat holding a sign in the middle of the city sidewalk that read “Choose Life”. As I passed by, it made my mind slow down and think about what I had just seen. I had witnessed the power of one! The power in the white haired lady on the sidewalk, and the power of one person she might have affected. My white haired friend did not organize a huge group, and she may not have changed the world that day, but she may have influenced one. She may have changed one person’s mind that was going to have an abortion. She may have made an impact on somebody who knows a family member or friend who was going have an abortion. She may have effected a young girl that in the future may be caught in a situation of choosing life or “choice”. She will never know her influence, but people like that change lives. If you influence one, you influence many! You don’t have to do anything big. You don’t have to be outgoing, or be a leader to make a difference. You can quietly make a difference. We each can make a difference in our own way. Find your passion, and bless others with it! And don’t forget the power within you! Be the ONE that makes a small imprint today! We don’t have to change the world in one day but we can make a difference each day. As we connect all of our little imprints, the world becomes a better place! Ready…Set…Go!
