Guatemala

Surprise!! Our family moved to Guatemala!! We can’t wait to catch you up on our venture! In the past, I haven’t blogged much about our family, but we have felt a call from God to share our family’s journey with our Imprinters, and we are thrilled to have you on this journey with us!

We have felt multiple emotions about this big change, but when it comes down to it, it’s amazing the peace and excitement we’ve all felt!

The Lord started preparing our minds and hearts for change a couple years ago (I guess He knew we needed some extra prep time๐Ÿ˜†). We would have never guessed this is where the change would be. We were looking in all the wrong places and frustrated that nothing was feeling right.

After countless dead ends, closed doors, a lot of time, and frustration unsure of where our family was supposed to be, we had a very strong and distinct impression about Guatemala. We talked about it as husband and wife (we spared the kids on this one) and decided we’d “look into it”. It was mind boggling how seamlessly everything fell into place, doors were flying open, and all the sudden everything seamed clear. Guatemala was where our family was supposed to go!

This is when we let the girls in on our little secret. Their initial reactions varied, as you can imagine, so we encouraged each of them to pray and find out for themselves if this is what the Lord wanted our family to do. We wanted them to know for themselves so they could face the good, bad, and the ugly of this change, knowing we were where Heavenly Father wanted us.

Thankfully, they all received a resounding yes like we did! So we put on our brave pants and pulled up our boot straps and headed out on a jet plane March 20th. The house and furniture are all sold, my husband had his last day of work the last week of February, what little remains of our stuff is in a storage unit, and our family of six is now in Guatemala with our allotted 80 pounds and a personal bag each. It feels awesome to be living so simply!

The amount of time we will be here is unknown at the point, it will be a minimum of 6 months, but we have come with open minds and hearts to what the Lord has in mind. We’re learning that He knows best and are so grateful for His direction, guidance, and the strength that we find in Him.

Now here’s to a new venture๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ˜˜…

We will be sharing about our venture on the blog, as well as Facebook and Instagram.

Hello Lindsay, I am friends with Wendy Ellison. I always thought I would go to Ghana but after hearing about Real Imprints from Wendy, I have been struck that this is where I should go. I lived in Santiago Chile for 18 months as a missionary in the 1970″s and have a very soft stop for my south american brothers and sisters, especially those in need.

I am hoping to travel with Wendy and her daughter in late winter. We are in the beginings of planning. I have subscribed to your newsletter.

    Love,

The part about you asking each child to pray so they can know itโ€™s the Lords will for them made me cry. Iโ€™m sure that experience is something they will never forget.

Awe. I agree, I think it’s something they will always remember. We’ve found that having the kids (and even both spouses) have their own answer is so huge, especially with big changes. If God wants us to do something, when the timing is right, all will receive their own answer, and then when things get hard, they have their own experience to fall back on. It helps take the pressure and possible resentment from the parents.
