No Match for a Sunny Disposition

Is there something in your life that is causing you to have some cloudy days?

The first thing I thought of when I saw this quote was politics. (Blah right?) We are days away from another election and we know that there are a lot of doom and gloom attitudes because of our choices this election, so I thought this was the perfect fit! This is a beautiful reminder that our attitudes and our dispositions are more powerful than what is going on around us.

A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition

Maybe you could care less about politics, but don’t we all have big rain clouds that come into our lives? Trials. Addictions. Health. Loss. Heartache. We all have clouds in our lives. What do we do with these days, months, or years? Do we let the cloudy “day” take over?

In another post, I mentioned my friend Evan. He is the perfect example of the power of a sunny disposition. I’d argue, his circumstances are harsher than a cloudy day, but he lights up the room with his sunny disposition, despite his limitations.

Gratitude is  always found within those that have sunny dispositions.

Our emPOWER challenge this month is to keep a grateful journal every night for one month. Start with a day, then focus on a week, and then commit to a month. One of our Imprinters, shared her story about keeping a grateful journal. She was dealing with chronic pain and was miserable. Read about how her grateful journal changed her life, literally.

Sometimes we search for happiness in places we can’t find it, and we overlook the simple things that will completely change our lives. Life is so busy and it’s so easy to let the simple things pass us by. This month, let’s all make a commitment to remember this one little thing that will take us less than one minute. Email me, and tell me about your experiences with this emPOWER challenge. I want to hear them!

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I can’t think of a better way to chase those cloudy days away with a sunny and grateful disposition.
