Men United In Purpose

Real Imprints

It’s been hard to know where to start and what to share about our trip to Haiti, so I thought I’d start here since this is one of my favorite pictures of the trip.

You may be wondering of all the amazing pictures, why in the world would this would be one of my favorites? It’s obviously not because it’s a good high quality breathtaking picture. It’s my favorite because of the meaning behind the picture. This picture symbolizes and represents something I am very passionate about, something I hope to accomplish with Real Imprints. Although these men are from different religions, different countries, different cultures, and different races, different upbringings, they are united in one purpose and that is to do God’s will and to make a difference for good in the world.

So many times it seems like we let our differences separate us. Religious leaders cause unnecessary wedges, political issues arise, our differences and struggles are televised and broadcast around the country, and sometimes the world. What would happen if we let our similarities unite us instead of our differences separate us?

Well, I got to see what happens with my own two eyes as I watched these men work together. These Christlike men all believe in Christ, they all believe and have a passion for helping those in need, they all want to dedicate their time and talents to doing God’s will, and they all believe God has a mission for them, individually, to fulfill. They have many differences, but their similarities are what united them on this hot and humid day in Haiti.

This mission trip was our first of many! Some will be near, some will be far, but as we leave imprints around the world, we hope that we can inspire others to unite in purpose and to live life with purpose! One thing we gained an even greater testimony about on this trip is that God is no respecter of people. He loves every single one of us individually. He is aware of each and every one of us. Whether you are from America, the Philippines, Congo, or Haiti, He loves you and knows you. Whether you are rich or poor, sick or able, weak or strong, He loves you.

This photo will always be among my favorites and will serve as a reminder to me the power of  men, women, children, families, and communities united in purpose. It’s how it’s supposed to be! In our homes, marriages, families, communities, and countries we can choose to let our similarities unite us, or allow our differences to divide us.

I say we choose to unite!
