After traveling to Haiti, I realized how crucial it is to know that, “Life with God is not immunity from difficulties, but peace in difficulties.” I learned this because I saw people, in such horrific unbelievable situations, happy. They radiated peace despite their difficult lives.
The people in Haiti seemed to understand that God is where you can find peace no matter your circumstances. Trial, tragedy, and even having their lives threatened by violence or starvation, are very real for many of them each and everyday. They would not survive without the tender mercies and miracles that they pray for and see unfold before their own eyes.
In America, and other countries around the world, it looks a lot different. We are so abundantly blessed and don’t NEED God to fulfill our most basic needs, so we tend to lose sight of this basic principle. We begin to feel entitled to blessings and expect an “easy life” free pass if we believe in God. Unfortunately Fortunately, this isn’t how it works. Everyone would recognize and believe in God if it was that easy.
When you need God for your most basic needs, you say, “I need to be worthy of God’s miracles,” but when you don’t, sometimes it’s easy to say, “If there was a God, He wouldn’t let this happen to me.”
This week, our POWER challenge is to pinpoint one thing that you struggle trusting God with, and put it fully in His hands.
I know that when we give our will to God’s, we find unmeasurable peace in the difficulties we face. I know this to be true because I’ve experienced it.
Happy peace week Imprinters!
