Sometimes I feel like this little bird; windblown, tattered and holding on for dear life and onto my “light”. There is so much opposition to doing good these days and I think it’s easy to get tired of it and want to slow down or quit. It’s easy to throw your hands up and say, I’m not going to fight the fight anymore. I’m ready for the easy road.
This week was an incredibly hard and amazing week all wrapped up in one. We had miracles happening all around us, and in the midst of it, I received a few nasty messages. There were people fighting against me and my team without even knowing us. I found myself asking why? Why do they put forth so much energy to try to break something or someone that they don’t even know that is trying to do good?
My answer came as I remembered a familiar scripture to me, “It must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things. If not so…righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad.” Without the opposition, we would not feel the joy.
As I sit at my computer with tears rolling down my face, I want to tell you (and me) to “Keep shining, beautiful one. The world needs your light.”
It’s hard to live a life of purpose. It’s hard to shine your light. It’s hard to believe it’s worth the fight when the opposition hits, but the Lord and the world needs us to keep shining!
THIS WEEKS POWER CHALLENGE IS TO PRAY THAT YOU WILL HAVE THE COURAGE TO SHINE. I know that our Heavenly Father is aware of us and that when we are windblown tattered and barely hanging on, He is the one that can strengthen our grip and brighten our light.
So when your nay sayers, whether it be outside voices or your inner voices, start opposing your goodness, your worth, your potential, your intentions, and your abilities, picture this little bird and remember to keep shining!
