Oh the Places You'll Go

Dear Girls,

On Sunday, Pey-Pey was treating me to quite the “Spa” treatment! She had waited all the way since the night before, when she had the great idea, and was literally bursting with excitement! She had two bowls of warm water, sitting on a towel, ready for me to soak my feet in. The bowls weren’t quite big enough to stick my feet in, so I tried my hardest to get as much in the water as possible, so she’d be content with her efforts. After I soaked my feet, she dried them, I chose my color, and then she painted my toes so carefully and precisely, complete with “fireworks”! (I loved to see you so determined and excited Pey-Pey). When she was finished, she quickly ran upstairs and grabbed a book for me to read while my polish dried. She came rushing back and handed me the book. She had chosen one of my favorite books, all on her own accord, “Oh the Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss. She quickly moved to painting my hands, and then messaging my back, and doing my hair, in what she said she called “two braids braided together”:-). The excitement of the spa took over and I didn’t get a chance to read it right then, but I reread it today. I hope it’s a book you girls will pick up often throughout your life because it has a message that just doesn’t wear out.

Which is why it’s one of my favorites! It has a deep message that I believe in with all my heart! It’s a message that talks to YOU and to everyone around you….”Oh the Places You’ll Go!”

“You can steer yourself any direction you choose”…we all get to choose what you want to become, and where we go with our life! It’s up to us! There will be many different paths you can choose from, and I hope you take the one less traveled. It is the path that will bring you the most happiness!

No path is easy. You will have get bumps and bruises. There will be road blocks. You will have ups and downs….highs and lows. There will be times when you think life can’t get any better, and times you will wonder if you can make it through the day. Just don’t give up! Always remember there is purpose in your life. God is molding you into something amazing!

God has a plan for you! You are the only one that can do what He wants you to do. So as you choose your path, please remember that He always knows best….that’s a hard one to remember sometimes…but He really does. The sooner you learn that, the easier your life will be. He sees the big picture. He knows your potential. Let Him guide you on your path and your bumps and bruises won’t hurt as bad, you’ll be able to maneuver through the roadblocks easier, and He’ll help you through those times you don’t think you can get through.

Whatever you do, don’t blame God when life is hard. That’s another one that is better to learn sooner than later. You will get nowhere blaming God. You’ll just be miserable. If he protected everyone that believed from any heartbreak, trial, or mishap, everyone would believe. It’s when things aren’t going well, that we can prove our faith and love in Him.

I don’t doubt you all will do amazing things! Pey-Pey may still be painting toes and doing hair, Stone may own her own restaurant, and Moodge may open her own clothing line. Who knows “the places you’ll go”???

Just remember girls, whatever path you choose, it’a YOUR path, that only YOU can walk. Leave imprints as you walk. Lift those that need a hand. Make others smile as you pass by. Be a light to those that are lost. I love you with all my heart! Go get ’em! Be Brave!

-Lindsey
