Being healthy has always been a part of who I am. I know the importance of putting the right foods in our bodies, daily exercise, spiritual balance and the right amount of sleep. All these create a healthy body, stronger bones and muscles, a clearer mind and a stronger spirit. So what do you do when everything you are trying to do is working against you?
Health issues are something that I have always had. As far back as I can remember I have never felt “good”. When I was young, it seemed like no big deal, that it was just part of growing up and part of life. Every time I ate, pain and bloating in my abdomen would always be there. It was miserable, not being able to digest foods or process them through my body. Headaches were constant. Eventually, turning into migraines. What I would have done to go one day not feeling like this. Sleep, what was that??? When I did fall asleep, I was soon awakened, repeating this pattern throughout the night. I use to stay up and read books because at least I could have enjoyment while being awake.
Each year passed with new symptoms, discomfort, pain, bills and NO answers. When I married my husband we just prepared ourselves assuming that our family would be blessed to us in different ways. Sometimes in life things happen without much understanding. So when we found out I was pregnant with our first child we were amazed. Three more children were blessed to us after. Each time baffled the Doctors and they told us it wouldn’t happen again. During my last two pregnancies my symptoms got worse. Allergies to all foods, numbness in my arms, pain in my muscles and spine, pain in my organs, extreme fatigue, no sleep and random flare up in my body. Doctor visits and bills became the norm. It felt like we would take a step forward with three steps back. After 18 years of feeling like this, you think that things couldn’t get any worse and then they do.
A little over a year ago I was being tested for Lupus, Spinal Cancer, tumors, MS, Fibromyalgia, to name a few. To think that at age 29 and being faced with the possibility of having a life altering diagnose weighed heavy on me. But I had also made a decision that I could make the most of my circumstances, that my trials could be blessings in disguise. So when my results came back again with little answers I knew something had to be done. My doctor at the time had discussed with me about the importance of eliminating the chemicals in my home. Could our laundry detergent and dish soaps really contribute to these big problems? It just made sense to me to use healthier products that are toxic and chemical free with no formaldehyde, chlorine bleach, ammonia, no phosphates or fillers, no abrasives… just naturally derived ingredients. We found this amazing online store where we could bring wellness home affordably and trust what we were using. Saving money on products that I used everyday was huge, especially in this economy. The best part was that the quality of ingredients in these products were better than anything I had ever used. So we made the switch. Out with the bad and in with the good. In one day I had switched my home to safe and chemical free products, without breaking the budget. (For more information on the chemical free products you can email me at ferney.Nicole@yahoo.com)
Finding I was negatively deprived in nutrients was shocking to me. Being diagnosed with severe arthritis and degenerative disc disease, most days left me in severe pain and unable to function the way I use to. I felt like my body was shutting down. So it was important that my body needed to get nutrients fast. But I was shocked. I had always taken my vitamins. Why was my body not absorbing them all these years? Vitamins can’t be effective if you aren’t absorbing them, which was my case. Could they actually be causing me more harm than good? So when I found vitamins where scientists actually studied absorption and a way for the body to absorb nutrients and minerals the way nature does, I knew I had my answer. My symptoms slowly started to change. The first time in my life I was digesting foods and processing them. My migraines decreased and I started to experience sleep like never before. Just being able to pull weeds again is something I am extremely thankful for. Reversing 18 years of health issues isn’t probably going to happen. But the changes I have made will help the next 18 years of my life! I can say that I feel the best I have felt in a very long time.
What is amazing, not only did my health change but my children’s and husband’s did as well. Symptoms of headaches, eczema, allergies, hives and sleep all got better. Knowing that I helped change the course of heath in their lives was life changing. I am driven to change lives and homes everywhere. Though this trial hasn’t always been easy, it has been completely worth it. Answers to prayers come in many different ways and blessings are sometimes disguised at first. But I know what I have gone through is for a reason. I am passionate about helping others and helping them be the best they can be. To set goals and reach for their dreams. To help people feel hope and feel better is something I live for. By making small changes now can leave big impacts on your future.
