5 Reasons Why the 4th of July is the Best Holiday Ever!

Every single 4th of July I get chills from my head to my toes. It’s by far my favorite holiday! As I was looking through my pictures, my mind was flooded by all the many reasons I LOVE the 4th of July. Since it’s a family favorite, and because I’m a little obsessed with it:-), I wanted to share with you the 5 reasons why the 4th of July is the best holiday ever…

1. Everyone is on the Same Team
This is the ONE day, when America comes together in a melting pot. Everyone is wearing the same color, and cheering for the same team. It’s the ONLY day when political views, religious opinions, cultural differences, and personal opinions are put aside, and we all put on our red, white, and blue  and sing, “I’m proud to be an American”
! We are all on the same team! I’ve always been a big fan of dressing for team America on the 4th!

2. Fun in the Sun
We love soaking up the summer sun while we enjoy the parade and chase the thrown candy, enjoy a good BBQ in the park, and of course cool off in the water… weather it be in a river, lake, or pool, it feels oh so good! There’s nothing better!

3. Cherished Memories Made
Some of our most cherished and simple memories have been on the fourth. I always feel an overwhelming amount of love for my family and country. It’s a time when we put everything else aside and just spend good quality time together! Maybe it’s because it’s a day that I am reminded of how truly blessed we are, but I always notice the little things that make life BIG on the fourth!

4. Fun Family Traditions
We’ve always been believers of family traditions! We believe families that have meaningful traditions stay together for the long haul. On the 4th, one of our (“our” meaning me and the girls, not sure the hubby would place it at the top:-)) favorite traditions is painting our nails in different patriotic patterns. The girls just love it! We listen to patriotic music (which always gives me chills and will often make me cry). We wear our red, white, and blue loud and proud! We spend time together enjoying the simple things in life. We eat great food and surround ourselves with family and friends. We talk to our girls about why we celebrate the 4th and give thanks for our many many blessings that we have!

5. Sparklers and Fireworks
Of course the sparklers and fireworks are always a hit! This year we got to see the big Idaho Falls, Idaho firework show. It’s AMAZING! It’s in the top 10 in the nation! I love to see how all of our kids react differently to the fireworks. I love watching in amazement and relaxing on the blanket while we watch the colors light up the sky! This year ALL of our kids enjoyed the fireworks! That was a big plus…no tears and clinched arms this year!:-)

We hope you all had a great 4th of July! We are truly blessed. I hope we live, as a nation, worthy of God’s blessings. God Bless America! Until next year…
