We have been collecting glasses for Ghana for almost a year now! We have around 150 prescription glasses!
I contacted the group we were planning to send them with a couple months ago and because of the Ebola scare in Africa, they were holding their trip off for a year. I was a little disappointed because I wanted to make sure that everyone’s donations and hard work to get us these glasses to us would be put to good use.
I was getting ready to search for another organization that could use the glasses when I found out we were headed to Haiti, and right their on the list of items needed were glasses! I was so excited!
So the “Glasses for Ghana” are now heading to Haiti! I’m super excited that we get to be a part of it, and will be able to share the experience with all of our imprinters and those that donated their glasses! I feel like it’s such a blessing and was meant to be! I will be the one checking their eyes and fitting them with glasses so I get to be an optometrist for a few days. They say everyone gets a promotion in Haiti. We’re finding that to be true!:-)
I can only imagine how it’s going to change their world when they put on glasses and can see their world in a whole new light! It’s pretty neat to be part of such a life changing event! Thank you to everyone who donated glasses! Someone’s life is about to get better because of your donation!
I had way too much fun taking candid pictures of my helper! Isn’t she the cutest co-worker ever? My friend gave her the perfect nickname, “Sunshine Mixed with a Little Hurricane.” There couldn’t be a better fit name for this girl! I am going to miss her tons! She is quite the mama’s girl so I hope we all survive the long separation!
We only need about $450 more dollars to get bunk beds for all the kids that are on the floor in one of the orphanages we’re going to! Please help us make this happen by donating HERE!
